Megan and Andy made the mistake of posing with zombies yesterday on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. Everything seemed to be going OK until the zombies suddenly attacked. Luckily the couple escaped and made it to their reception unscathed--or did they?
Now in its 31st year, Eelpout is the fishing festival where almost nobody fishes. Let's face it, this is Mardi Gras on ice and each year 10,000 people visit the temporary town on Leech Lake to party. Main Street, a mile-long path on the lake, is lined with party houses populated with drinking teams. Snowmobiles and four-wheelers towing couches and picknic tables cruise the street to form a haphazard parade. On the last day of the festival, pouters pack up camp with dreams of doing it all over again the next year.
As Lacey's car was being imprinted with golf ball sized hail, we grabbed cameras and documented the freakish weather. It is hard to believe that it was 90 degrees and sunny an hour earlier! The Swiss Biker couple we were photographing this afternoon stepped outside of their cabin to see the hail for themselves. We'll post Franziska and Wulf's wedding photos tomorrow.
Kaylee, Lisa and I stayed near Iowa City a few weeks ago. I didn't know where we were staying until we got there. Needless to say I was very pleased with the accommodations. Best Western Cantebury Inn and Suites, Coralville, Iowa.
